COIN78 - XML Extra Credit (Sitemap and RSS)
XML Sitemap
This is an optional assignment, worth 5 to 10 points. You will create an XML sitemap file for your website, or for a fictitious website, similiar to sitemap.xml with at least 5 records in it.
- Build a simple XML site map, using the example file as a guide. Do not use a software tool for this - instead try doing it by hand, unless your website has more than 20 pages in it. Email this file to me as an attachment (5 points)
- Upload the file to your website, and send my the URL linking to it (email) or post it in ETUDES. (5 points)
- Notify Google that the file has been uploaded, and copy and paste a confirmation of that into the assignment window. Note that you will need to be a registered Google webmaster to get full credit for this part of the assignment.
It may take you a while to become a Google webmaster - for notes on this see http://www.google.com/webmasters/
This may take you some time to configure - so don't delay too long!
